✍️ Journalism Jobs, Internships, Fellowships, Events, Awards and Salaries ✍️ — October 30
Poll: Should news orgs make political endorsements?; Plus hundreds of new journalism jobs, internships, fellowships, workshops, webinars and awards; TWO WEEKS FREE paid subscriptions
Hello folks, hope everybody is doing well, and welcome to another edition of Inside The Newsroom, the largest journalism job board and calendar in the world.
This week a friend sent me this article about high functioning anxiety, and it provoked a really interesting discussion. If you're like me, you're proud of what you've achieved, but you can't help but think it's not enough and cannot stop thinking about doing more, more and more. I've worked hard over the past few years to try and tame that inner storm, so that I can start to enjoy the fruits of my labor a little more. While I certainly enjoy a good glass of tinto de verano in the sun these days, the fire still burns ferociously and I’ve got a long way to go. It was a good read that sparked healthy reflection and perspective.
Also this week I found super interesting the newspaper endorsement/non-endorsement debate ahead of next week's U.S. general election. As the AP notes, newspaper endorsements are following a downward trend, yet each time an outlet decides against taking a political stand, it causes tremors among its subscriber base for pledging its support one way or another.
So in the name of curiosity, I want to hold our first ever in-newsletter poll to see what you think. I know it’s not necessarily as simple as yes or no, but depending on the response, we can delve deeper into this topic next week.
Okay, let's get to this week's news journalism opportunities. Today we have more than 400 jobs, internships, fellowships, webinars, workshops and awards, as part of more than 1,000 in total.
I've left tasters of everything we offer as part of our paid subscriptions. In case you're new or have forgotten, here's a reminder of everything you'll gain access to when you become a paid subscriber…
And don't forget that we recently upped our free trials from one week to two weeks. You can cancel at any time before the two weeks are up, so you have plenty of time to see if we are right for you.
