✍️✍️ Journalism Awards, Events and Fellowship Deadlines ✍️✍️ — April 28
Free internship list plus new journalism jobs, awards, events and fellowship deadlines
Hello folks, happy Friday! I always get a thrill out of writing those words, as it means the end of the work week is here. Even though working for yourself means there is no “work week”, Friday is still sacred in my world, and means extra morning coffee and chicken wings (this evening I’m not a sicko).
Anyway, we have another bumper update to our Journalism Awards, Events and Fellowships Deadlines Calendar today. Next Wednesday (May 3) is World Press Freedom Day, so the calendar is full of events of what’s happening in that realm.
The 2023 International Journalism Festival in Perugia wrapped up this week, and they have a free giant archive of all of their sessions and panels. Definitely worth bookmarking and having a look.
🚨 Monday (May 1) is a public holiday here in the UK, so Monday’s job board and newsletter will move to Tuesday. Thanks for bearing with me. 🚨
Twice a year we offer a big list of last-minute internships for free! So check that out by clicking the button below, and of course share with anyone and everyone.

Be sure to check out Monday’s newsletter on career rejection and how I Never Lose. I Either Win, Or I Learn. The sooner we accept rejection, the sooner we can use it to our advantage.
And lastly, join me on Substack’s new social media platform, Notes, where along with thousands of other talented journalists and writers, I’ll be posting about whatever comes to mind.
That’s all from me this week. We’ll be back in your inboxes on Tuesday. As always, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support.
