Graduate and undergraduate students at North American colleges and universities or American students studying abroad are invited to apply for Overseas Press Club Foundation Scholar Awards. A Nieman Fellowship is open to journalists working in all media in every country around the world. Nieman Fellows are also able to audit classes at other local universities including MIT and Tufts.

American Aftermaths Grant
The Aftermath Project is a non-profit organization committed to telling the other half of the story of conflict — the story of what it takes for individuals to learn to live again, to rebuild destroyed lives and homes, to restore civil societies, to address the lingering wounds of war while struggling to create new avenues for peace. The Aftermath Project holds a yearly grant competition open to working photographers worldwide covering the aftermath of conflict.

Six journalists from crisis areas will be invited to Berlin for a period of six months. Who can apply? Rory Peck Trust Training Fund
Safety training is vitally important for freelance journalists planning to work in hostile environments. The Rory Peck Trust Training Fund enables freelance journalists to gain the essential skills and knowledge needed to work in difficult and potentially dangerous situations. Launched in 2000, the fund has given hundreds of bursaries to freelance journalists, photographers, camera operators and filmmakers to allow them to take part in training with one of their trusted course providers. Courses teach them to assess risk and spot danger, handle a crisis, support others and give vital first aid.

Meet the Team Behind the Scoop That Brought Down Spain's Football Chief
Soon after Spain won the FIFA Women’s World Cup, the celebration turned into outrage when Spanish Football chief Luis Rubiales kissed Spanish player Jenni Hermoso on the lips without her consent. Prompted by criticism in Spain and beyond, Rubiales recorded a non-apology apology and put out a statement from Hermoso saying the kiss had been consensual. But those were not Hermoso’s words. Rubiales’ team had made them up. Spaniards learnt about the coverup from Relevo, a young sports news site founded in 2022. The charter is a collaborative effort by representatives from 31 leading media organisations including AFP, Rappler, the Tow Center for Journalism, the Media Institute of Southern Africa, the Thomson Reuters Foundation, the Canadian Journalism Foundation and the Committee to Protect Journalists. In this seminar project manager Arthur Grimonpont will speak about the initiative and about its members' collective commitment to uphold the ethics of journalism and the right to information in the age of AI.
