Hello folks and welcome to Inside The Newsroom, Journalism's Job Board.
Hope everybody has had a great week so far! We have quite the update to our suite of resources this week, so I’ll waste no time by breaking down everything below…
Journalism Calendar
This week we absolutely smashed our previous record of the total value of listings on our Journalism Calendar, which now features more than $1 million worth of grants, fellowships and cash awards across the world. That’s all part of 200 total opportunities, with dozens of deadlines coming up in the next week.
Journalism Job Board
Not only that, but we also have more than 1,000 total full- and part-time jobs, fixed-term contracts and internships, across the U.S., UK, Canada and Europe.
Freelance Board
And we’re making a slight change to our Freelance Board. To date, we’ve added roughly 100 new freelance opportunities each week but, unlike regular journalism roles which often stay active for up to one month, freelance roles are quickly filled and sometimes closed within a week.
So instead of running in circles, we’ve decided to focus on deadline-less opportunities that are evergreen, with a few handfuls of opps that do have deadlines from the past week mixed in for good measure. Right now we have 140 evergreen opportunities on the board, including everything from article pitch calls to audio-photo-video, to project-based product and strategy roles, so there should be something for everyone to apply to.
Referral Program: Free Annual Subscriptions
I also wanted to highlight our Referral Program, which is such an essential source of growth for us, and we appreciate all 1,000+ of you that have referred at least one person to us over the years.
