Hello folks, happy Wednesday and welcome to Inside The Newsroom, journalism's job board.
We have to start today with the sad news that there were more layoffs in the industry this week, this time at CNN who said they will cut 210 employees or 6% of their newsroom as part of plans to invest $70 million in new digital plans, and NBC who announced plans to cut 40 people as part of a strategy realignment. And last week it was reported that Dotdash Meredith would be letting go of 143 personnel. That means that at least 550 journalists have already lost their jobs so far in 2025
As a reminder to anybody not already aware, we offer all those who have recently been laid off, or are concerned about the future of their employment, free access to the job board, no questions asked. Please reach out to me directly at daniellevitt32@gmail.com and we’ll get you set up.
