✍️ New Journalism Jobs Update ✍️ — June 27

Hello folks, happy Tuesday! I spent most of the weekend following the news of mutiny in Russia and the potential for civil war. Things seem to have calmed down, for now, but the latest events show how temperamental things are and anything can happen at any time. Here’s a great explainer of what might happen next, and who the Wagner Group actually is.
In other news, next Monday is apparently the beginning of the dog days of summer in the U.S. For me, “dog days of summer” is up there with “You wanna pop a squat?” and “Ya'll wanna dip?”, actual things that were said to me in the past that left me utterly bewildered. In this case, ‘dog days’ actually refers to Sirius, the brightest star in the constellation Canis Major, and not to your dog Brian who lazes about because it’s too hot.
Anyway, I'm going to embrace the latter of those two meanings, and do some lazing myself. Which is why I'll be dropping down to a single weekly newsletter for a few weeks to rest my little brain and prepare for a busy fall season. The job board will continue to be updated every Tuesday as normal. As ever, if you have any issues or questions at all, you can reach me at daniellevitt32@gmail.com.
Before I leave you be, a quick reminder to take advantage of our free seven-day trials so you can try our paid subscriptions before you buy.
And be sure to check out the most recent update to our Journalism Awards, Events and Fellowships Deadlines Calendar. Enjoy the rest of your weeks! 👊
