New job deadlines, job updates, essential summer journalism reading, $500 stipends and the best heatwave data visualizations

Hello folks, happy Friday! I’ve seen some awesome resources on Twitter this week, so we’ll run through a few of those quickly and then get out of here to enjoy the weekend.

Before we do, check out Monday’s newsletter as we looked at the Wall Street Journal and New York Post’s excoriating editorials on Donald Trump, his role in the January 6 attack on the Capitol, and his unworthyness to become president for a second time.

We also added hundreds of new jobs at the likes of Apple, Amnesty, Atlantic, Bloomberg, Disney, Oprah, CBC, CBS, DAZN, ESPN, France TV, Globe and Mail, ITV and the Liverpool Echo.

Okay, resources… Our friends at the Reuters Institute put together an essential list of summer reading. Among the most notable and influtential include Public Opinion, written by Walter Lippmann in 1922 and still incredibly topical; and the more recent The Platform Press: How Silicon Valley Reengineered Journalism by several folks at Columbia University is another must-read.
