Hey folks, happy Monday and welcome to another edition of Inside The Newsroom, home to the world's largest curated journalism jobs board.🤘
Unfortunately today will be short as I had a funeral on Friday and today I’m flying to Marseille for my birthday week, so I wasn't able to get everything together. As it is birthday week, the next official newsletter will be on March 10. I always say that I want to run this newsletter for years, not months, and taking a week off to sip fancy wine all day is absolutely part of that, so thank you for bearing with me. 🙏
The job board will be updated each Monday as usual.
Over the weekend I listened to a truly fascinating debate on the motion “Be it resolved, don’t trust mainstream media”, hosted by the MunkDebates. Arguing for the motion are Matt Taibbi and Douglas Murray, and against are Malcolm Gladwell and Michelle Goldberg.
My opinion on the topic, based on facts and my own experience, swayed back and forth, so I thought it would be super cool if we all went away (I'll listen again more critically) and listen to the debate. Then in a couple of weeks we can have a discussion on whether we think we can trust mainstream media and reasons why or why not.
Munk Debate: Be It Resolved, Don’t Trust Mainstream Media
Until then, I'll leave you with some quick housekeeping…
