✍️ Jobs Update ✍️ — October 17
BILD, Bloomberg, CANAL+, Cancer Research UK, CBS, Discovery, Disney, Dotdash Meredith, France Télévisions, Future, Hearst, Immediate Media, ITN, Jellysmack, LAist and hundreds more
Hey guys and girls, it’s already that time again. We’ve got another full edition for you today, so let’s get right to it.
Before we do, be sure to check out last Monday’s newsletter where we added more than 1,000 new jobs and internships. And Friday’s edition for hundreds of upcoming job and fellowship deadlines that are fast approaching.
As always, you can access our full suite of jobs and services for as little as $3 a month. Just use the code DISCOUNT50 for 50% off at checkout.
And make sure you join our Candidate Board for free, and be one of more than 200 other candidates making the most of recruiters contacting them directly about open roles.
The majority of our jobs we post require native English, but of course that’s not always possible for folks who have other native languages. Fortunately freelance writer Cristiana Bedei has a guide of tools for non-native speakers and writers to improve their skills and employability.
Speaking of which, Rest of World — the nonprofit covering global technology that launched in 2020 — has announced that it will pay its employees equally across locations around the world. RoW are currently hiring for a number of positions so do check out their latest openings.
Apparently today is #SpreadsheetDay (lol). So the folks at DataJournalism.com have a couple of super useful guides on Teaching Data Journalism by Stanford University’s Cheryl Phillips, and A Decade of Working in Data Journalism by Google’s Simon Rogers. Both are well worth checking out.
And we’ll end on what looks like a very interesting webinar by the Global Investigative Journalism Network on What Is Washington Doing in You Country? The U.S. government engages with virtually every country in the world, and Pulitzer Prize-winning and Associated Press journalist Martha Mendoza will offer tips on how to investigate global U.S. influence.
That’s all for today. Check out our featured and new jobs below, with the focus on social media and strategy roles. I’ll be back in your inboxes on Friday, speak soon!
